2015 was quite a year for score-reading for Cardiff Singer and 11 Proms; such variety & a joy & a priviledge to work with so many talented people. There has been no folk at all until recently when I added some whistle & flute to a recording with Australian singer Siobhan Owen (http://www.siobhanowen.com), a project by the dynamic writing duo Ben & Ian (www.heneghanlawson.com) & a chance to play my 1820 wooden simple system flute.
There have been some wonderful concerts & recordings with the ESO(eso.co.uk) & Welsh Sinfonia(http://www.welshsinfonia.co.uk/) playing music from the old to the very new. The next ESO concerts are St John & Matthew passions in March & WS is in Cardiff at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama on April 30th (http://www.welshsinfonia.co.uk). The WS have also been working with some schools across Wales to help build up their orchestras; against the odds music is just about surviving in schools mainly due to some very enthusiastic teachers.
The ESO is making a return visit to the English Music Festival in May (www.englishmusicfestival.org.uk) & I'm looking forward to working again with harpist Hugh Webb(http://www.divine-art.co.uk/AS/hughwebb.htm) in June....it's been too long!
